SA Christian voice needs to be heard. Solidarity Rally for Israel to proceed to Union Buildings.

After a well-attended South African Friends of Israel (SAFI) Press Conference hosted on Monday 23rd July in Sandton – we are pleased to inform the public that the SA Christian Solidarity Rally for Israel will be taking place this Wednesday 25th July at 10.00am, in Pretoria. This despite a last minute cancellation by the management at Freedom Park where the rally was scheduled to take place.

Community leaders of all faiths will congregate on the grounds just outside the Pretoria Art Museum at 10.00am where we will pray and then make our way to Union Building Gardens to hand over our petition (signed by over 38,000 people) to a representative of the Presidency. The petition calls for the Government to cease efforts to sever ties with Israel and re-instate the South African Ambassador to his rightful place in the Holy Land.

Church leaders representing thousands of Christians and other people of all faiths are expected to participate and make their voices heard on this important issue.

Similar events will be taking place across the country over the next few months. We believe that the constitutional rights of every South African, across all beliefs, religions and cultures must be represented equally before Government takes these foreign policy decisions without consultation.

We will come together and pray that South Africa upgrades its relations with Israel, so that our country can be blessed. As the scripture clearly states: “Those who bless Israel will be blessed. Those who curse Israel will be cursed.” Genesis 12.3.

We invite members of the public and media to join and participate with us.

SA friends of Israel is at the forefront of changing attitudes towards Israel. By interacting with people of all faiths, cultures and ethnic groups, both in South Africa and across the African continent, SAFI’s goal is to strengthen ties between Israel and its allies, while simultaneously building new relationships. SAFI and its affiliates will continue to fight against the vitriolic and dishonest deligitimisation campaigns which seek to slander Israel while agitating for its ultimate destruction.

The event is supported by the Nazareth Baptist Church, Council of Churches South Africa International (COCSAI), Christian Minister’s Council of Southern Africa (CMCSA), Zion Christian Church (ZCC) Reconciliation with Christ Ministries, City of Mercy Tabernacle, and the Naturena Baptist Church, amongst Christian leaders of political parties, civil society and other groups who support the mission of peace in the Middle East and a prosperous South Africa.
